When I booked this hotel, I expected something dingy - I was pleasantly mistaken. The staff were friendly, the location great (4 min from the Laoxing metro station on line 10) and the room better than I'd hoped for. I'd strongly recommend taking the Delux Double room - for a few extra rmb it's worth every cent. Free reliable wi-fi, good aircon/heating, clean shower and comfortable bed etc. Seems to have been recently upgraded so all round, great value. I'll be staying here again when in Shanghai.
Good price, good location
Rooms appear to be cleaned only in obvious places. If you happen to open a bathroom cabinet you might come across an orange peal. Cleanliness can be definitely improved.
It was located really good - about 20 minutes on foot from the Bund. View from the window - amazing!
Personnel was helpful, but no one could speak english. Rooms are cute, cosy, a little bit too small - but that didn't bother us much. The condition was broken so we could either make the room really heat or turn it off at all. Regulation of temperature was not responding.
Friendly staff, clean, and inexpensive.
It's noisy outside, but I don't mind.
It was close to metro station, in very chinese neighborhood.
Very hard bed, windows could be better sound proof.
Just for sleep is ok ,Hotel is the center but in a seedy neighborhood, its good at least they can speak little English .any way thakns them .
Picture´s is different, not like we saw in the booking.Front of hotel is very dirty and outside too.Reception is bad smell, and they don´t care anybody.
Located near the subway, nice bathroom
A bit noisy, the room could be cleaner
Helpful staff, Rooms spacies and clean. I am happy in general with everything exept the smel in the lift (elevator) which in fact did not bther me much.
The staff was nice, clean room, excellent location the subway is 2min away and laoximen station is so central, the area is surounded by a typical market which is Nice
The hotel need maybe a little bit of refurbishment In some area but nothing major and nothing to be worry about.
Perfect location, a few minutes walk from Metro station. Perfect for parties.
It is situated in a very typical Local Shanghai neighborhood. So right outside the street is bustling with activity and you can buy fresh fruit etc. right there. The hotel is very simple but definitely provides the basics. The location is very close to a big subway station that will take you in any direction to the city. There is also plenty to do at walking distance.
A few things were not that great: The whole area including the hotel is quite smelly since there is food being sold all around it. The wifi didn't work well I found. It was online but I couldn't surf. I used the cable that was there which was better. I could open the window, but in front of it there were some decorational wooden strips so my view was rather obstructed. All of these things are minor if you consider the price I think.
Located in an older district, this hotel offers the scenery of the real life of Chinese people. Good value for room rate which includes comfortable bed, air conditioning and private bathroom. The air conditioning is excellent for the three functions: air-con, heat pump and auto function. The shower’s temperature and water flow is just nice. Good walking distance from metro station. Very convenient if one were to take metro from Hongqiao airport to this hotel. One stop or two stops to Shanghai places of interest such as Yuyuan, Nanjing pedestrian street etc. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The facilities to wash clothes (by hands) and the sunny place for drying clothes give much convenience to hotel guests.
Some kind of market smell in the first floor’s lift due to the market is located in the second floor.
Price - Location - Staff
Absence of cupboard - Problem with the evacuation of water in the shower
The location was great! Easy walk to Xintiandi, easy to find taxis, and the streets just outside a bustling with fruit carts, seafood and little markets (not a lot of tourists either). At night the food vendors set up which is, of course, fabulous. They have washer and dryer - 30 yuan was enough to wash and dry a load of clothes. 4th floor has a lovely looking sun room which is probably wonderful in spring and fall.
keep in mind the rooms are tiny. we got a double and it was really hard for 2 people to move around in it. there was a bar for a shower curtain, but no actual curtain. the elevator smelled like a frozen fish locker. the oddest part was the front desk help - every time we asked for their help with something they would ask us why we wanted it (an extra key, to have a taxi called for an early morning airport trip, etc). unfortunately, none of their english was good enough to understand our explanations, so we kind of just gave up.
Near a metro station, good value for money. There is a department store nearby.
The elevator has a nasty smell of rotten fish and a noisy neighborhood, but otherwise it is okay.
